Process Digitalization in Finance

With the help of digital tools towards a better understanding of your own business processes and more effective and cost-efficient process flows – digitalize your financial processes with Draxinger & Lentz.

Inefficient process landscape

Business processes often deviate from the predefined sequence and have a low automation rate. This leads to non-transparent and heterogeneous processes, fluctuating process quality and thus high process costs. Improving financial processes can be achieved through a holistic and structural approach, with the integrated use of digital tools such as process mining and robotics process automation (RPA).

Our approach for your digitalization success

Better process understanding and identification of optimization potential with process mining
In process analysis, process mining brings transparency to your financial processes and makes optimization potential visible. Based on digital footprints (e.g., document numbers) in the IT systems, the actual process flow can be reconstructed, and a better process understanding can be generated. Building on the process analysis, inefficiencies can be determined, and optimization potential can be identified.

Development of a coherent strategy for process optimization
The identified optimization potentials must be evaluated and transferred into a coherent optimization strategy. The potentials can then be realized along this strategy.

Optimization with Robotics Process Automation (RPA)
Standardized and rule-based process steps are particularly suitable for the use of RPA. Both individual process steps and the complete process can be automated with RPA. The software works at the user interface level and reproduces human actions there. It is therefore not necessary to change the underlying systems or technologies or create new interfaces.

An example of our work for clients

Simplified example of process mining analysis of a planning process

For better presentation and to protect sensitive customer data, this example has been greatly simplified.

Process mining was used to analyze the planning process of a company operating in the energy sector. The goal was to increase transparency on the planning process and thus generate efficiency advantages. Our customer’s tasks include the maintenance of the power grid, installation and maintenance of meters, grid expansion and development, investments in renewable energies as well as the construction, maintenance and operation of e-charging stations. Each of these task areas is handled independently in planning and therefore has individual process structures.

Through the analysis with process mining, the temporal sequence of the planning process could be reproduced and analyzed. From this, optimization potentials regarding the execution time as well as the process sequence and stringency became apparent. For example, it was noticeable that personnel cost planning was carried out too late and therefore caused unnecessary coordination effort at the end of the process. These inefficiencies became visible through the use of process mining and could consequently be optimized.
